Ron Cox has been a pilot for 44 years.
His aviation career started as an Army pilot flying helicopters in 1968 and continued until his retirement from the military in 1985. He flew a combat tour in Vietnam from 1969-1970 and accumulated 1100 hours of mission time during that period. After his combat tour, Ron flew a variety of military and civilian aircraft at various duty stations during his service.

In 1988 Ron joined Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach, FL as an instructor and shortly thereafter was promoted to Manager of the center. His tenure at Piper ended when he accepted a position as Director of Training and later Director of Sales at Simcom Training Centers in Orlando, FL in 1990.

In 1992 Ron founded, developed, and operated Aviation Training Management, Inc. (ATM). The company specialized in initial and refresher (re-current) training in pressurized single and twin-engine reciprocating and turbine engine aircraft. ATM was sold in 2006 and Ron remained with the company as a senior instructor until his non-compete was fulfilled in 2009.

Ron Cox Aviation Services, LLC (RCAS) became operational in 2009 and trains over 200 pilots yearly. The company specializes in pilot training for the PC-12,TBM 750/850, Meridian, and Piper Jetprops. In addition, Ron continues to instruct in a variety of single and twin pressurized reciprocating aircraft and acts as a consultant for aircraft sales and operation to individuals and organizations.

RCAS's training program's curriculum includes aircraft systems, avionics, low and high-profile performance operations, and emergency procedures. Instructors at RCAS train pilots to proficiency. The specific hours listed in the syllabuses are only guidelines. Pilot judgement and demonstrated proficiency determines the the completion of the courses. All major aviation insurance underwriters have approved RCAS's courses.

Unlike many aviation teaching professionals, Ron has first-hand experience as an owner and seller of many aircraft during his forty-four year aviation career. He understands the complexities of aircraft purchasing, ownership, and sales from his real-life experience.
